Oak Beams

In the modern building process green oak is being used more and more.  During the construction process it can become stained by either water or iron reacting with tannic acid, causing black markings to occur.

Carefully blastcleaning will remove the black marks and blemishes to enhance the grain of the oak.  The same process is used in cleaning paint off old beams.

Cleaning considerations:-

- type and size of abrasive used

- abrasive to air ratio

- angle of cleaning process

If all of these factors are taken into account, the desired character affect will be achieved.
